Two devastating earthquakes—the strongest to strike Venezuela in more than a century—have left entire communities in ruins. Families have lost loved ones, homes, and access to food, clean water, electricity, and essential supplies. Thousands are now sheltering in overcrowded stadiums and temporary shelters, uncertain of what tomorrow will bring.For many, help cannot come soon enough.Here in Northern Nevada, this tragedy is deeply personal. Members of our Venezuelan community—including families who came to the United States seeking safety and a new beginning—are desperately trying to help relatives and neighbors affected by the disaster.
