Endless Possibilities
Dear Friend of Our Neighborhood Academy,As we reflect on this past year, one phrase rises above all others: endless possibilities. This year, our young adults didn’t just attend programs — they discovered confidence, independence, and community. So many incredible moments were made possible through your generosity. Here are just a few of the life-changing experiences you helped sponsor this year:ONA SOCIAL CLUBS - BURGER BONANZAThis year, our social clubs continued to be a place where friendships grow and confidence shines. Our restaurant club, which began as a social club called “Burger Bonanza” turned into an unforgettable adventure as our young adults set out to find “the best burger in town.” They learned how to order independently, budget their money, navigate spaces, and practice social interaction. Next, we are taking on a new adventure and searching for the best pizza pie. With your continued support, we are excited to grow all of our social clubs including restaurants and movies! Growing these clubs will provide our young adults the opportunity to expand their connection and joy. Check out our social media for photos and reviews! A HOLE-IN-ONE MOMENT AT OUR PUTTS-FOR-A-PURPOSE GOLF OUTINGA student, who comes to us for job training, joined us at our Putts-For-A-Purpose golf outing this year and did something none of us will ever forget: he got a hole-in-one. The cheers, the pride on his face, the confidence that moment created — it was a reminderthat when opportunity meets encouragement, anything is possible.SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPSThrough our partnerships with the Berkley and Birmingham Schools and their Adult Transition Programs, students gained real-world work experience by helping run our Children’s Boutique and their Hoppy Puppy Dog-Treat Business. They learn responsibility, teamwork, customer service, and pride in meaningful work. Come visit ONA’s Children’s Boutique where we sell clothing, books, and handmade gifts. We’d love to help you find the perfect gift. ONA TRANSITION CLASSESIn our transition classes, students learn the skills that matter most for growing their independence: Life skills, routines, problem-solving, self-advocacy, and workplace readiness. These are the building blocks for a future filled with purpose and dignity. Each of these moments was sponsored by someone who believes in their future. Someone who chose to believe in endless possibilities. Someone like you.Behind every smile, every new skill learned, every first-time experience - there is a donor who said, “YES, I Believe in these young adults.” Your gifts didn’t just fund programs... They opened doors. As we look ahead to the coming year, the possibilities before our students are truly endless - but they depend on continued support from people like you. We have more social clubs, job training opportunities, and community experiences planned than ever before. Most importantly, we have lives to change! We are asking you today to consider making an end-of-year gift to Our Neighborhood Academy. Your tax-deductible donation will directly support the various programs for our young adults with disabilities in the year ahead. From all of us at ONA, and from every young adult whose life you have impacted, thank you for believing in what’s possible. We cannot wait to show you what your generosity will accomplish next year. The possibilities are endless! With deepest gratitude,Allison Greene ONA Founder
