NINE MOONS - Rehearsal & Class & Performance Project
NINE MOONS - Rehearsal & Class & Performance ProjectSeptember 2026 - May 2027YOU ARE INVITED TO JOIN award winning choreographer Vanessa Anspaugh for a nine-month creative process that is part class, part rehearsal, and part performance project. Designed for performers, movers, choreographers, and curious beginners alike, this intimate ensemble experience offers a deep dive into collaborative dance-making. Rather than focusing on technique alone, participants explore choreographic process, creative research, improvisation, and performance, gaining insight into how and why a work is made. Together, the ensemble will develop a new evening-length performance that premieres in May 2027 in Northampton, then touring to a variety of nontraditional sites including galleries, barns, meadows, parking lots, and other public spaces.Seeking performers of all backgrounds and experience levels who bring curiosity, generosity, and a commitment to collaborative process. All bodies. All gender expressions. All ages welcome.Enrollment is limited to 10 participants.Schedule:Intensive 1 (at 33 Hawley Street, Northampton, MA)Thursday, September 17 • 5:00–8:00 PMFriday, September 18 • 10:00 AM–1:00 PM, 2:00–5:00 PM & 6:00–8:00 PMSaturday, September 19 • 10:00 AM–2:00 PMOngoing Rehearsals (at the Whately Town Hall, Whately, MA)Wednesdays, 6:00–7:30 PMSeptember 22, 2026 – May 10, 2027Additional weekend intensives and performance dates to be announcedFees$1200 (sustaining, you have stable resources, paying this supports others)$900 (standard, your needs are mostly met)$600 ( community, working with financial constraints)Need help understanding payment?Payments can made in full or divided in half (September 1 and January 1).We tried to create a pricing structure that both honors the creative labor of Anspaugh and SCDT but that also feels especially accessible for lower income and moderate income folks. At the community/financial constraints level, this $8 per class hour. We feel this is a generous offering. And your engaged participation brings reciprocity! That said, many people face financial struggles at various times, where even the minimum can be prohibitive. So if the minimum is prohibitive, contact us at infoscdt@gmail.com and we will do our best to meet your needs.Approximately 68 contact class hours (including intensives & weekly Wednesday classes - NOT including performances & tech):$1200 => $ 17 per class hour$900 => $13.2 per class hour$600 => $8 per class hour
