The Gathering

Sirius Community invites you to explore sacred connection with insects. Jacob Baker will guide you through this workshop through an intentional process involving Buddhist mediation techniques to deepen and develop the relationship that we have with insects. By continuing to practice these techniques, there is hope to create harmony with all sentient beings. &nbsp; You will also get a chance to be the first guests that get to experience and spend time in our newly created plant pollinator garden.&nbsp; After the event, guests are welcome to stick around and enjoy some light refreshments that will be provided.

Reigniting Our Connection With Bugs

This Saturday, July 18th at 3:00 PM Max and Eli, both local, professional menders throughout the valley will be co-teaching an introductory workshop to darning, a fabric repair technique using a sewing needle and thread to patch holes. -Bring your socks, sweaters, hats, or other knit/crocheted items with holes that you want to fix, plus basic sewing supplies if you have them (some extra supplies will be available if needed) -After the workshop, Max and Eli will be sticking around from 4:30-5:30, holding a more casual mending circle that is open to all.

Starting at 3:00 PM guests can choose their own adventure....-Relax in our wood-fired sauna-Take a refreshing dip in the pond-Learn something new by accompanying community member, Chris, on a forest foraging walk! 5:00 PM &nbsp;Circle singing in the octagon led by community member, Eric. 6:30 Family style, vegan dinner is served 7:30 Drum circle held in the octagon 8:00 Sound meditation led by Sarah and Kevin Bell of &quot;Sounds of Harmony.&quot;Experience gongs, crystal bowls and other resonant instruments as you rest in awareness of sound. If you would like to lay down, please bring a blanket or mat to keep yourself comfortable.

Solstice Celebration Sound Meditation

The handpan is a relatively new musical instrument &ndash; compared to most we know. Originally called the &ldquo;hang&rdquo; this evocative derivative is both percussive and melodic. Gaining in popularity around the world, players and listeners alike are enchanted by its unique resonance. The handpan can be heard in yoga classes, for meditation, as well as in concert or simply for pure enjoyment by players. A leader in the world of handpan and Rav (a related tongue drum), Ricky Hillson is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and instrument maker who teaches and performs regularly at handpan festivals and concerts. rewildyoursoulmusic.com

PanHarmony Concert

Sirius Community welcomes you to our eco-village on Saturday, June 6th for our monthly, family-friendly gathering. This is an intentionally curated evening that fosters connection, fun and belonging. If you feel excited about meeting new people, engaging in warm conversation, eating nourishing food, and dancing with encouraging folks within a supportive environment.....this is for you! Here is what you can expect for our evening together on June 6th. 4:00pm: The Sauna, (located just steps outside of the east wing doors) will be ready for use and will remain available for the rest of the day, into the night. This is a clothing optional space so feel free to make whatever choice that feels most comfortable and aligned for yourself. There are 2 showers for you to use after your sweat so please be sure to bring your own towel and a change of clothes.&nbsp; 6:00 PM: Doors open for guest arrivals so that everyone can familiarize themselves with the space and so that people can set up their pot luck dish. This is also a great time for the overnight guests to check-in so that they can be shown to their rooms. 6:30 PM:&nbsp;Vegetarian pot luck dinner is served with a group food blessing. The pot-luck dishes that are cooked by community members are ALWAYS 100% organic and there are always vegan and gluten-free options available. Dishes are also labeled to eliminate any confusion. 7:30 PM: Ceremonial grade cacao is served in the octagon while Jill Smith, registered yoga teacher, guides everyone on a heart-opening meditation. This is a chance for people to arrive back into their bodies and to reconnect with their breath as they experience the grounding, and collectively harmonizing effects of the cacao in this sacred, shared space together.&nbsp;&nbsp;8:00 PM: Circle dance led by Gwyn Peterdi, a founder of New England Circle Dance Camp and Mexico Circle Dance Festival.Circle dance grows from ancient roots, and joins us across boundaries of race, gender, age or creed. Fun, meditative, joyful and peaceful; Circle Dance encompasses many dynamics. Cultivating joy, strength and balance, we are able to transform ourselves and our communities.&nbsp;

The Gathering-June 6th!

Join us for a fully immersive experience that is centered around living in community. If you carry a curiosity about what it would be like to visit one of the longest running eco villages in the whole country, if you value education, spirituality, sustainability, community, or if you feel excited about meeting new people and getting a glimpse into what life in community could feel like.....then this is for you.&nbsp; Guests are welcome to arrive at 4:00 pm on Friday, May 1st. One of our guest services team members will show you to your room where you are welcome to unpack and relax, while the kitchen team is preparing dinner for everyone in our outdoor, pizza cob oven. There will be lawn games and musical instruments nearby that will be available to enjoy while dinner is being prepared After dinner we will gather together for a welcome ceremony. During which we will give a brief history of Sirius Community and share what to expect for the rest of our time together, followed by getting cozy around a bon fire (yes stories and songs are encouraged) On Saturday morning there will be light breakfast offerings provided at around 8 AM, followed by what we call, &quot;Joyful Productivity&quot; that begins at 9:00 AM. Community members, guests and visitors all circle up for a morning check-in. This is our opportunity to spend time working together on the land with different projects. Whether that&#39;s harvesting vegetables, enjoying the quiet, warmth of the green house or joining grounds team to gather, stack and move fire wood in the forest, there is always something for everyone.&nbsp; 10:00 AM: Guests are welcome to join a community tour to see all that there is to see. 12:30 PM: A guided global healing meditation is held in the octagon&nbsp; 1:00 PM: The community meets in the kitchen to enjoy a 100 % organic vegetarian lunch (The meal is mostly vegan and always includes gluten-free options) Feel free to embark on your own adventure in our 90 acre forest, relax in our hammocks, or participate in a community communication practice, &nbsp;&quot;Forum.&quot; &nbsp;(This gives individuals a chance to take turns authentically expressing themselves while others bare witness and offer insightful reflections) 3:00pm: Sauna is ready for use and will be available for the rest of the day, into the night.&nbsp;(Don&#39;t forget your towel and water bottle) 3:00 pm: Nature craft and foraging walk 5:00 pm: Non-violent communication forum 6:30 PM: 100 % organic, vegetarian dinner will be served. 8:00 PM: Cacao ceremony&nbsp; 8:30 PM: The Sirius Ecstatic dance begins, featuring music from one of our in-house DJ&#39;s. Sunday 8:00 AM: Yoga and breath work workshop&nbsp; 10:00 AM: Waffle brunch is served 12:00 PM: Closing ceremony held at the sacred stone circle (This is the time for everyone to share their experiences, reflections and to ask any questions)

Community Experience Weekend

This month&#39;s gathering will be weekend filled with experiences centering around community. We&#39;d love to have you! The rooms that are available for overnight stays range from $71-$99 per night. Just make sure you reserve a room ahead of time. If easing your way into the weekend feels more aligned for you, please join us in the heart of the community center at 9:00 AM on Saturday morning. Community member, Sharon will lead a felt, sewing craft using upcycled material from The Stash House in Turners Falls. Come stitch a spirit owl softie! They are decorated with simple embroidery and appliqu&eacute;, then sewn together and stuffed. If you would like to bring something to make your spirit owl special, please do! All children are welcome and little ones will do best with an adult that they arrived with by their side. 5:30 PM: Doors open for our evening portion of the event. This is a great time for event attendees to arrive and become familiar with the space or for overnight guests to arrive so that they can be shown to their rooms and make themselves comfortable before the action begins. 6:30 PM: Vegetarian pot luck dinner is served 8:00 PM: A Guided mindful movement warm up will take place upstairs in the octagon. 8:30 PM: The Ecstatic dance begins, featuring music from our special guest- DJ TintedDreams

Primarily acting as an educational non-profit, this intentional community has a strong focus on sustainability, community, education and spirituality. It is through developing and offering the classes, workshops and programs that we do, these 4 core pillars are what we strive to embody so that Sirius can act as a touchstone for those looking to connect to a deeper understanding and relationship with themselves, those around them, nature and spirit.&nbsp; 47 years ago, our ROTA (short for cooking rotation) system was created so that community members were given a chance to participate in taking turns cooking dinner for each other, guests and neighbors. The intention behind this was to foster community connections and to have a shared responsibility and respect for the heart of the community center, the kitchen. Dinner is served every Monday through Friday at 6:30 PM. In order to keep this 47 year-long practice alive, we have created a bulk food program so that we are able to continue this tradition in the most aligned approach possible while supporting farmers and eco-friendly companies along the way. This program will supply the Sirius Kitchen with 100 % organic, ethically sourced, nutrient rich, ingredients that all ROTA participants may use for the meals that they cook. Sirius Community is now accepting donations that will go directly towards this bulk food program. Any dollar amount that is received is received with gratitude. If you wish to support in another way like sharing this cause with loved ones or through social media, we recognize the impact in that and feel humbled.Thank you for your support. Jan Rolin from Mycoterra Farm, will be leading a mushroom workshop&nbsp; Guests will get to explore the different methods of mushroom cultivation, how to prepare and cook mushrooms, and learn all about the medicinal benefits that mushrooms have to offer. Participants will have a hands on experience and even get to take home their very own grow kit!
