Facilitator Training Series
The Series: January 13-15: Restorative Circles for Sexual Harm with Kay PranisMarch 29-31: Restorative Dialogues for Sexual Harm with Alissa AckermanApril 28-30: Transformative Mediation for Sexual Harm with Dan SimonJust People's Facilitator Training Series is building Minnesota’s capacity to respond to sexual harm differently. Through a series of three, 3-day trainings in restorative circles, restorative dialogue, and transformative mediation, participants will learn from nationally-respected practitioners Kay Pranis, Alissa Ackerman, and Dan Simon and develop practical skills for navigating some of the most difficult conversations in our communities. This series is especially designed for people who want to put these practices into action. Just People is working toward developing a network of trained facilitators who may be contracted, on a very part-time and case-by-case basis, to facilitate restorative processes involving sexual harm in the future. Participants interested in this pathway will have opportunities to deepen their skills, build relationships with other practitioners, and explore what it means to facilitate these sensitive cases with care, integrity, and accountability.Whether you are an advocate, educator, mediator, facilitator, coach, community leader, or someone committed to creating meaningful alternatives to the legal system, this series is an invitation to become part of a growing community of practice. Together, we can build the community, skills, and infrastructure needed to offer more meaningful pathways toward accountability, healing, and justice after sexual harm.* Participants must be Minnesota residents. *
