Give your survivors peace of mind by planning ahead to “leave well.” Learn about important things often overlooked that can leave survivors scrambling to figure it all out. This workshop helps you to “live well” knowing it’s already planned for them to carry on well. Featured guest speaker Shelly Halverson will give a 1-hour presentation on the “A Lifetime Gift” binder that helps you plan effectively. Other speakers will cover estate, care, repose, legacy, and memorial planning. St. Mark&rsquo;s &ldquo;God&rsquo;s Work. Our Hands&rdquo; service project for 2026 is Backpack Buddies: supporting children experiencing food insecurity. &nbsp;For many children, when the weekend comes, they are without nutritious food. Robeson County has an overall food insecurity rate of 28.4%, which is nearly double the North Carolina state average of 15.4%, driven heavily by high childhood and family poverty levels. Backpack Buddies will provide weekend food for students at our neighborhood school, Tanglewood Elementary. Each gift fills real backpacks with kid-friendly meals, snacks, and personal care items. We have committed to serving Tanglewood&rsquo;s students for the 2026-2027 academic year.&nbsp; A donation of just $10&nbsp;will provide enough food for one child to have a weekend&rsquo;s worth of food. A gift of $300 will feed a child all the weekends of a school year. Backpack Buddies entails creating bags of food that provide 2 meals for the weekend and can be discreetly placed in a student&#39;s backpack. Your donation supports our ongoing outreach and reflects our call to serve neighbors with steady, practical care. Give as you are able, and help send a child home with both food and a sense of being remembered.&nbsp;&nbsp;You are invited to join as we pack the first set of bags on Sunday, September 13 with a target of 50 bags filled that day to be delivered the following Monday. Then, we will continue to create more bags as needed throughout the school year.&nbsp;
