Strength Over Solitude

Strength Over Solitude empowers veterans by providing essential support and community connections. Through initiatives like holiday kits and events, they foster resilience and camaraderie among veterans and their families.

Join us for Boerne&#39;s 7th annual Flag Run! We are looking for 5 veterans and their spouse/partner/friend to join our team. Rain or shine, we will be there. Each runner will receive a t-shirt and finisher medal! (Food, drinks, music, aid stations, and timing will all be included) Proceeds go to the Boerne Fire Department!

July 4th 5K Run

Join us for a Hill Country hike as we get outside, move our bodies, and connect with fellow veterans who understand the journey. We&rsquo;ll be hitting the Wilderness Trail and Twin Peaks Loop at Hill Country State Natural Area&mdash;a beautiful 3.8-mile moderate hike with scenic views and a steady challenge (about 1 hour 30 minutes at a relaxed pace). This isn&rsquo;t about speed or performance&mdash;it&rsquo;s about showing up, getting some fresh air, and being part of something. Whether you hike often or you&rsquo;re just getting started, you&rsquo;re welcome here. Take one day for yourself. Hike in the Hill Country

Thank you for helping us with our annual BBQ! We&#39;re looking for 10 volunteers to help us set up and clean, as well as, two people to be stationed at every table: check in table, food and drink, kids crafts, and help the kids play the kid games and give them their prizes. If you think you&#39;d like to help us with this, please RSVP with this form. Thank you for your help! In case you haven&#39;t hear about us, we are Strength Over Solitude. We are a 501(c)(3) veteran ran non-profit founded in 2023 in Boerne. We host monthly events for veterans and their families to help prevent self-isolation and this is one of our events. We thank you for helping us continue our mission.

Volunteer for BBQ and Bingo in the Park

We&#39;re excited to invite you to our annual BBQ, but this year with a fun twist! Join us for hamburgers and hotdogs fresh off the grill, outdoor games like cornhole, and a round (or two) of bingo with some fun prizes up for grabs. It&#39;s a relaxed event meant to eat good food, laugh together, and celebrate our veteran community. We&#39;d love to see you there!

BBQ and Bingo in the Park

Join us for a memorable sunrise hike at Enchanted Rock State Natural Area! This moderate to strenuous 0.8-mile (one way) trail climbs about 425 feet up a massive granite dome, rewarding hikers with breathtaking panoramic views as the sun rises. The climb is steep and challenging, but the peaceful sunrise and shared light breakfast at the summit make it well worth the effort. Come ready for an early start, a good workout, and an unforgettable morning outdoors. You will need to reserve a pass ahead of time. If you have the Texas State Park Pass, your entry is free! Each donation helps us host these events all year long, giving veterans a reason to show up, move forward, and know they&#39;re not alone.
