Sweet Acres Pig Sanctuary

Sweet Acres Pig Sanctuary rescues and provides lifelong care for pigs from neglect and abuse. Their mission is to educate the public and promote kindness towards all animals, fostering a compassionate community for pigs and their welfare.

Come celebrate 10 years of rescuing and giving potbelly pigs a second chance at Sweet Acres Pig Sanctuary! 🐷💖 Over the last decade, so many pigs have found safety, care, and a forever home here, and I’d love for you to join in celebrating this milestone. This is an Open House event — we love welcoming drop-ins and the gates are open to all. If you’d like to make things smoother for parking and day-of logistics, we encourage you to grab a free ticket and select an arrival time:<ul><li style="box-sizing:inherit">10:30 AM</li><li style="box-sizing:inherit">12:00 PM</li><li style="box-sizing:inherit">1:30 PM</li></ul>Most guests stay 1–2 hours, but you’re welcome to linger longer and soak in the sanctuary vibes. 📍 Parking Parking is available at the back of the property, and there is also street parking along Vivian Road. 🎁 Support the Sanctuary At the event, we’ll have Sweet Acres t-shirts, hoodies, mugs, and our brand-new 2026 calendars available for purchase. Meet Frida, the newest member of the Sweet Acres family. I received a call from a concerned person to check on a pig kept on a nearby property. Due to the conditions she was in and the couple&#39;s lack of funds to care for her, we made a joint decision to bring her to the sanctuary. When she arrived, her hooves had never been trimmed, making it impossible for her to walk, and she was very underweight. We have since trimmed her feet and put her on the best nutritional diet. She is still very thin, her coat is weak, her skin is dry, and her eyes are weeping, but she is a very loving girl. Charlotte did briefly find an adoptive forever home, but due to wildlife risks&mdash;including a bear and coyote sightings&mdash;the owner felt concerned for her well-being. We decided it wasn&#39;t safe, so she is back and will live out her days here. Charlotte has no aggression. I sit with her, and though she is leery, she lets me touch her face and never bites. She knows she is safe. On July 7, a vet will be performing her overall health check and spay surgery. Her spay is $1,400 with no complications, and our goal is to raise $2,000 to cover her surgery and medical care. I appreciate any help you can give to support Frida&rsquo;s journey. 🧡
