Keep live orchestra music close to home
If you've been to one of our concerts, you know what it's like to hear a full orchestra up close, in a concert hall or a church a few minutes from your house. That's the whole idea behind Symphony847. Professional musicians who teach and perform all over the Chicago area, playing serious music in the towns where our audience actually lives. Here's what most people don't realize. Every musician on our stage is paid. But we don't have an office or a full-time staff. The people who book the halls, design the programs and sell the tickets are mostly volunteers, many of them on the board or in the orchestra itself. So when you give, your money goes where you'd hope it would: to the players, the room we rehearse in, the hall we perform in, and the music on the stands.Tickets cover part of what a concert costs. Gifts cover the rest. That's how we keep tickets affordable, let kids in free, and take chances on music you won't hear anywhere else up here.Give once if that's what feels right. If you can, a small monthly gift goes a long way, because it lets us book next season's players and halls before the season starts.Thank you. We'll see you at the next concert.- The musicians and volunteers of Symphony847─────────────Symphony847 is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 85-0997499.
