Talk Club

Talk Club empowers men to open up about their mental health through supportive conversations, fostering community and connection to combat isolation and stigma. They provide a safe space for men to share and grow together.

This event started in May 2023 and has grown in attendance every year. Friends &amp; family are welcome to join us on the walk once they have registered. (Details below). The walk is about 19 miles and runs from Portishead to Weston-Super-Mare, with stops along the way. Some walkers do half the section and finish in Clevedon, which is around 7 to 8 miles. At the end of the walk, when we near Hornets RFC in Weston, we take a moment to link arms and finish the walk together. This is a poignant part of the entire event as we want to display togetherness and unity, and of course, some great photos!!! The Big Talk Club Walk

Excitement is in the air. Get ready to be part of something extraordinary at Talk Club&#39;s BETTER SLEEP CLINIC with Dr David Garley. It&#39;s an event like no other, and we want you to be there!&nbsp; Every registration for this event brings us closer to achieving our mission to help you understand and improve your sleep. Together, we can create a mentally fit community.&nbsp; Thank you for supporting our mission. Your support is invaluable.

TALK CLUB BETTER SLEEP CLINIC

Last year we lost an incredible human being, who was an amazing colleague and friend of mine, at Merchants&rsquo; Academy Secondary School. Paul Moseley was a Maths teacher, who was loved by staff and students alike and is always referred to as a &ldquo;legend&rdquo; whenever spoken about. He had a great sense of humour and an absolute heart of gold; he was the type of man who would do anything for anyone and would always lift your mood when you were having a bad day. Moseley always had your back. Sadly, Paul had his own demons and took his own life last May. As Paul was an avid Crystal Palace supporter, Jack and I had originally planned to cycle from Merchants&rsquo; Academy in Withywood, Bristol, to Crystal Palace&rsquo;s stadium, Selhurst Park, in London - a distance of approximately 147&nbsp;miles. Unfortunately, Jack is no longer able to take part in the ride after breaking his humerus in two places whilst snowboarding. However, Jack remains a huge part of this challenge and will be supporting us throughout the journey by driving the support vehicle. Incredibly, my friends Harry and Andy have&nbsp;stepped in to take Jack&rsquo;s place and we will now be completing the ride together in memory of Paul. Although I have no prior cycling experience and have only recently recovered from Achilles tendon surgery, we&rsquo;re determined to complete this challenge. ⁠The date will be Saturday 30th May 2026. Aiming to leave Merchants&rsquo; around 05:30 and reach Selhurst Park around 17:00. As our first fundraising milestone, we aimed to raise &pound;2,008, a meaningful figure as 2008 was the year Paul began teaching at Merchants&rsquo;. Reaching this target was a fitting tribute to the impact he went on to have on so many young people and colleagues. We then set a second target of &pound;3,025, another meaningful number reflecting Paul&rsquo;s love of Maths, as 55 &times; 55 = 3,025. We are incredibly grateful to say that we have now reached this milestone as well. We are incredibly grateful to say that we have now reached our latest fundraising goal of &pound;4,096. Our next target is &pound;5,041, another meaningful square number reflecting Paul&rsquo;s love of Maths, as 71 &times; 71 = 5,041. We feel this is a fitting next milestone as we continue to honour his passion for numbers while pushing the fundraising further in his memory. Any donation to the charity Talk Club would be hugely appreciated. They create spaces where men can speak openly, listen, and feel less alone. Your donation supports trained facilitators, safe venues, and practical tools that keep these conversations going. For every &pound;10 donated, an estimated &pound;7.10p goes directly into delivering Talk Club sessions, &nbsp;20p keeps the charity safe and compliant, and the remaining 9p enables us to reach more men. Sober silent disco x BBF x Talk Club

CAPTAINS CAMP brings Talk Club Captains together to grow skills, swap ideas, and deepen support for men&rsquo;s mental health. Use this form to confirm your place, share any access needs, and tell us about your Talk Club group.&nbsp; We have a limit of 25 beds for those who wish to stay over. First-come, first-served basis, but we will give preference to those attending the camp for the first time. Weekends in the past have been an incredible way to bring the captains together to share best practices and their experience running a group in their locations. Talk Club will provide an evening meal on Saturday night, breakfast on Sunday morning, and snacks and refreshments throughout.&nbsp; Once everyone has arrived on Saturday, we will have a large-group check-in and then have lunch. This is not provided, so please bring a sandwich.&nbsp;After lunch, we will have a guest speaker/event.Next, we will have a group walk before we set up a fire and have our evening meal. After dinner, we sit around the fire and chat, sing and have a laugh. You are welcome to bring alcohol if you wish. We will be providing Clear Head for those who do not want to drink.&nbsp; Throughout the day, you can come and go as you please. No pressure. Join in when you choose.&nbsp; We look forward to seeing you, hearing you and connecting with you.&nbsp;
