Alabama Interfaith Refugee Partnership Inc advocates for refugees and asylum seekers through education, direct support, and community engagement, fostering understanding and compassion to empower displaced individuals in Alabama.

Join Alabama Interfaith Refugee Partnership this Earth Day for a meaningful event to raise money for ALIRP.&nbsp; Our goal is to raise $5,000 to help support ALIRP operations, education, and advocacy for our ALIRP Partners.&nbsp; On&nbsp;Sunday, April 12th from 4:00&ndash;7:00 PM, we&rsquo;re hosting a free, public silent auction at Cahaba Brewing Company located at&nbsp;4500 5th Ave S Building C, Birmingham, AL 35222. The online auction will close at 6:00 PM on Sunday, April 12th. This auction features a diverse collection of artwork donated by local artists, alongside a truly unique centerpiece: six original paintings created by elephants from the Maetaeng Elephant Park.&nbsp; The art and the event itself draw inspiration from elephants as symbols of memory, matriarchal strength, and long migratory journeys. Just as environmental changes displace wildlife, many of the families ALIRP serves have been forced to flee violence, war, and climate disruption, only to face new challenges upon arrival in the United States. All funds raised will go directly toward supporting ALIRP operations and to ALIRP Partner families as they navigate housing, legal processes, and rebuilding their lives. Your presence and your donations help affirm a simple truth: seeking refuge is a human right.

Your gift helps refugee and asylum-seeking families in Alabama access and afford essential health care 🩺. Many of our Partner families are currently facing medical bills, prescription costs, and urgent appointments that they cannot afford. Many of our Partner families have recently had unexpected visits to the Emergency Room and other healthcare services. Despite having legal status in the U.S., quite a few ALIRP Partner families are either uninsured or underinsured. This can result in medical bills that are difficult or impossible for them to afford. These health-related expenses place an added burden on families who are already struggling to make ends meet. With the funds gathered through this &quot;flash&quot; fundraiser, ALIRP will provide direct support to Partner families to help cover expenses relating to doctor visits, medications, behavioral health care, and other healthcare needs. This is an opportunity for our community to stand up for the simple truth that everyone deserves access to healthcare&nbsp;❤️.
