Build Confidence Through Good MannersHelp your child build confidence, kindness, and respect in Armfield Recreation Center&#39;s Manners Class for ages 8&ndash;13. We are looking forward to a fun and engaging afternoon together. Sunday Sept 13th 20261:30pm-3:30pmLocation: First United Methodist Church Pilot Mountain210 W Marion Street Pilot Mountain NC 27041&nbsp;During our two-hour session, we&#39;ll focus on everyday manners and making great first impressions. Students will learn how to introduce themselves confidently, sit and stand with poise, show kindness, treat others with respect, and use the &quot;power words&quot; every day&mdash;please, thank you, excuse me, and more.&nbsp;We&#39;ll build a strong foundation in dining etiquette, including proper soup and spoon etiquette, finger foods (wipe after every bite!), and appropriate table manners. Students will practice setting the table, fork on the left, knife and spoon on the right, napkin in the lap, and learn when and how to use their napkin during and after a meal. They&#39;ll also remember the famous saying, &quot;Mabel, Mabel, if you&#39;re able...&quot; keep your elbows off the table, chew with your mouth closed, and wait until everyone has been served.&nbsp;Students will put their new skills into practice in our mock restaurant, Manners Caf&eacute;. They&#39;ll confidently order for themselves, practice bread basket etiquette (always pass to the right), use their best table manners throughout the meal, and finish with proper dessert etiquette.&nbsp;Please arrive a few minutes early so we can begin promptly. This is a drop-off class, and we kindly ask that children use the restroom before arriving.&nbsp;Let&#39;s make it a dress-up occasion! Gentlemen should wear collared shirts with slacks or nice shorts. Young ladies should wear dresses, skirts, or jumpers.
