Featuring viola, cello, clarinet, and piano, this performance will be a unique way to experience that special fall feeling through music.&nbsp; This concert will feature beloved classical masters alongside new composers in a program that will showcase each instrument at different points, creating a special moment for each timbre to come through the texture. Join us for a concert featuring one of Chicago&#39;s most dynamic chamber music ensembles - Quintet Attacca. This five-piece wind ensemble will lead us through an international program with music from Valerie Coleman, Samuel Barber, Astor Piazzolla, Franz Danzi, Paquito d&#39;Rivera, and Alyssa Morris.&nbsp; Traditionally, we see the phrase &quot;melting pot&quot; used to describe a place where many different cultures and customs come together to create a community of blended traditions. &nbsp;This program expands that phrase to include the vast array of experiences that bring audiences together, the musicians on the stage, and the music we play. &nbsp;This program features composers born between three centuries, residing on three different continents, and spanning four different genres of music (classical, Latin, Afro-Cuban and jazz) -&nbsp; a true blending of experiences that create one very rich program. Celebrate the legacy of the Chicago Black Renaissance with Florence Price&rsquo;s beloved &ldquo;Five Folksongs in Counterpoint,&rdquo; and learn about her challenges and successes as a Black trailblazer in Western classical music. Take the grand tour without leaving your concert seat, and experience some of the most beautiful and profound music of this powerful and elegant era.&nbsp; The Callipygian Players are an ensemble of Chicago&#39;s finest period instrument musicians and singers under the leadership of Director and Baroque Violinist Martin Davids. They present innovative and exciting concerts of music from the Baroque era (approximately 1600-1750).
