Dream Factory Sound Sanctuary is alive and running. Our first 3-week artist residency completed earlier this year, and we're already welcoming our next residents this June. Something real is happening here in the high desert of San Diego County — and we want to make sure it can keep growing. To do that, we need to build a permanent home for the people who run it. Chantaia and Dustin had been living next door to the studio in a home belonging to a dear friend. While she was gracious enough to share her space for nearly two years while we were getting our program off the ground, she is now coming home. And we're so grateful for the runway she gave us. Without on-site housing going forward, our ability to host artists year-round — especially through winter months and during weather-dependent seasons — becomes limited in ways that affect the depth and consistency of our program. The plan is straightforward: enclose the existing porch structure of the studio building into a small, connected living space for the operators. We have a contractor selected and a quote of $25,000. We're raising $30,000 to cover the build with a small buffer. This isn't about survival — it's about sustainability. We're building so the residency can deepen, expand, and serve more artists without interruption. Help us put down roots.Every dollar goes directly to construction. Zeffy takes zero platform fees, so 100% of your gift reaches the build. Build a Permanent Home for the Hosts — Help Dream Factory Go Year-Round

There's a kind of music only a person can make — hands on an instrument, chasing a sound that lives only in them. That's the music we exist to make possible, and it's what your gift protects. Dream Factory Sound Sanctuary grew from a vision our late co-founder, Isa Love, first brought to life decades ago — a creative sanctuary reaching beyond music into movement, performance, and film. The Dream Factory is that vision carried forward. Access is the heart of it. A professional studio, a collection of more than 550 donated instruments, an engineer to capture the sound in your head — for most independent musicians, these are out of reach. We bring artists to our secluded high-desert sanctuary and give them everything they need to do their best work: studio time, lodging, meals, hands-on support, and the space to create without distraction. No barrier of cost or circumstance between a real artist and the tools to realize their vision. When you give to the Residency Fund, you're not funding a thing — you're keeping a door open. Every gift welcomes the next artist, and the one after that. Thank you. Gifts support DFSS's residency program; if circumstances change, we may direct them to the area of greatest need within our mission.
