Celebrate Native American Heritage Month by walking with us on the path to preserving Indigenous knowledge.Call to ActionIndigenous communities in Texas are still here—on our homelands, reclaiming our history, culture, language, and ways of life. Join us as we continue to uplift these roots through the Indigenous Cultures Institute, where every program connects us to our ancestral knowledge and values. With your help, we can create lasting change that reaches future generations. Our PurposeThe Indigenous Cultures Institute serves over 140,000 people annually, uniting communities through millennia-old teachings that prioritize relationships, respect for ancestors and elders, and our role in restoring balance with Mother Earth. Your support powers vital programs, from youth education and language revitalization to educators’ training and ancestral reburials. Each gift strengthens our impact and creates a legacy that will endure for seven generations. How Your Gift Will Make a DifferenceCoahuiltecan Language ReclamationPreserving an Ancient Voice: We are revitalizing the Coahuiltecan language—considered extinct—through classes inspired by traditional ceremony, song, and danza. Your support helps reclaim this language, empowering young people in Central Texas and Northern Mexico to learn and uphold their heritage.Tānko Institute for EducatorsNurturing Indigenous Knowledge in Schools: The Tānko Institute offers educators immersive training in Xinachtli pedagogy, founded on Maya, Mexica, and Coahuiltecan philosophies. With guidance from Indigenous elders, teachers cultivate an ecological consciousness in students, aligning education with the natural world’s wisdom. A donation to the Tānko Institute shapes future generations of leaders attuned to our Earth’s needs.Indigenous Arts Summer Encounter and Youth ProgramsInspiring the Next Generation: The Indigenous Arts Summer Encounter is a week-long ceremonial journey for Indigenous and allied youth, ages 10-14. Each summer, they explore traditional Native arts, music, foodways, and sciences, sparking pride in their Indigenous identity and cultivating their commitment to community and cultural heritage. Your support brings this life-changing experience to hundreds of young people each year.Repatriation EffortsRestoring Dignity to Our Ancestors: Thousands of ancestral remains have been held in institutions across the U.S. The Miakan-Garza tribe is dedicated to reburial, honoring these ancestors’ memory. By supporting our repatriation work, you play a direct role in returning our people to rest within Texas soil.Cultural Presentations & Sacred Springs PowwowSharing Indigenous Culture with All: Through educational events and the annual Sacred Springs Powwow, we invite all communities to experience the resilience and richness of Indigenous traditions. With your help, we can continue to offer presentations, performances, and celebrations that connect and inspire. How to Get InvolvedDonate Today: Every dollar makes a difference, whether you’re supporting a child’s first dance in Native regalia, helping a teacher bring new Indigenous perspectives into their classroom, or restoring the language and stories of the Coahuiltecan people. Your gift is 100% tax-deductible under IRS Section 501(c)(3) and directly supports the work of Indigenous cultures in Texas.Become a Monthly Donor: Consider walking with us long-term by setting up a recurring donation. Each month, your gift will sustain our programs and help us reach even more communities.Spread the Word: Share our campaign with friends, family, and social media.
