The Circle of Turtle Lodge

CTL was created to revive and promote the Traditional Culture of the Indigenous People of the Ottawa Valley, the Algonquin Anishinabe.  We are an urban, independent, not-for-profit organization/registered charity based in unceded Algonquin Territory.

Experience the Kairos Blanket Exercise is an interactive workshop that walks you through key moments in Indigenous history on this land. Together, we explore how these events continue to shape our relationships today. 🪶 Guided in the spirit of the Medicine Wheel, this session supports learning with the heart, mind, body, and spirit. The Circle of Turtle Lodge is partnering with the Waterfront Campus of Algonquin College in Pembroke to host our first Annual Algonquin Elders Conference on Indigenous Day weekend in 2026.&nbsp; Algonquin Elders Patrick [Partridge] Aird and Aimee Bailey, and Knowledge Keeper Sherry Dion will share their understandings of Traditional Teachings, Ceremony, and insights from Friday, June 19th until Sunday, June 21st.&nbsp; The usual Indigenous Day celebrations by FCS will follow at the Pembroke Marina in the afternoon.
