Reclaim, Subvert, Reimagine. Who gets to shape the technologies that shape our lives? This Tech-Forward Art Dialogue explores the relationships between technology, bodies, identity and power through feminist, queer, Indigenous, racialized, disabled and other marginalized creative practices. From DIY electronics and hacking to surveillance, digital labour, gaming, accessibility and speculative design, artists are questioning who technology is built for, who gets left out, and who gets to make it. What happens when we move beyond adapting to existing technologies and begin to reclaim, subvert and reimagine them?

TAD Beyond the Screen: Technology, Accessibility & Creative Inclusion Technology has the power to remove barriers; but only when accessibility is considered from the beginning. This discussion explores how emerging technologies can expand access to media arts for artists and audiences with disabilities. From tactile 3D sculptures that translate visual artworks for people with low vision or blindness to adaptive creative tools, audio description, immersive experiences, and inclusive design practices, we'll examine how innovation can make art more accessible to everyone. Featuring artists, accessibility advocates, and technology specialists, this conversation asks an important question: How can we build a future where technological innovation and accessibility evolve together rather than separately? Don’t miss out on what is sure to be a perception-altering and stimulating exchange of ideas.
