Support our Prevention Education Programs OUR GOAL: Increase the personal safety of individuals through education and empowerment.Unfortunately, many children experience sexual abuse. One in three Albertans (34%) experience sexual abuse before the age of 18. Just under one in two girls (44%) and one in four boys (24%).With your support we can change those statistics. The Sendero Centre is dedicated to ending the culture of sexual violence and fostering safer communities throughout central Alberta by promoting awareness, healing, education, empowerment, and renewal. We offer free violence prevention education programs tailored to children, youth, and adults in the region. We believe that preventative programming is a key factor in building healthier and safer communities. The Sendero Centre’s Education Programs are not sexual health or "sex ed." They focus specifically on violence prevention, equipping individuals with the knowledge and skills to contribute to a culture of respect and safety.
