Dear Members of The Canadian Club of Victoria,It is time to renew your memberships for 2025-2026.What a great season we had in 2024-2025! We started strongly with Dr. Leslie Brown from the Royal BC Museum, presenting Whose Stories Count?. Another top presentation was author Bob Joesph, " 21 Things You May Not Know about The Indian Act". Other amazing programs provided solid insights into a variety of issues. As a result, our members are amongst the best-informed people in Greater Victoria.The Program Committee of The Canadian Club of Victoria has another exciting year lined up and we hope you will consider rejoining us again this season. Starting Tuesday September, 9th. we have the following speakers thru to June 2026. -Dave Obee Editor, Times Colonist: The state of Canadian Media-Royal Canadian Marine Search & Rescue Volunteers: Safety at Sea-Rear-Admiral Nigel Greenwood, Royal Canadian Navy (Ret’d): Shipping in the Arctic-The Canadian Club of Victoria Christmas buffet with seasonal music by St. Andrew’s Regional High School Choir.-Dr. Helga Kristin Hallgrimsdottir, Professor and Deputy Provost University of Victoria:The new Health Sciences building and medical innovations-Michael Prince, PhD., Landsdowne professor of Social Policy at the University of Victoria: The rise of right wing governments-Author, Moira Dann, Her new biography of Kathleen Dunsmuir, Headstrong Heiress of Robert Dunsmuir-Annual Dinner & Cultural event, Uplands Golf Course with Marion Newman, Critically acclaimed mezzo-soprano of Kwagiulth and Sto:lo First Nations.-Bruce Williams, Retired C.E.O., Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce:Business in Victoria-Thomas Homer-Dixon PhD., Founder of the Cascade Institute, Royal Roads University:Threats to global securityMembership dues are $80.00/individual and $150.00/couple1.)
