Unbound Learners is dedicated to strengthening our local community of learners in Johnson County, Kansas and beyond by providing essential resources, tools, and support that make learning enriching, accessible, and successful for all families. Across our community, families are seeking flexible, engaging, and meaningful educational experiences for their children. While many students thrive academically, access to well-rounded opportunities—such as social connection, organized athletics, and hands-on STEM learning—can vary widely depending on resources and circumstances.Research consistently shows that enrichment opportunities like team sports, collaborative activities, and STEM programs play a critical role in developing confidence, teamwork, problem-solving skills, and long-term academic and career success. However, not all families have equal access to these experiences, creating gaps that can limit a child’s full potential. That is where Unbound Learners steps in. Your support helps us expand access and create opportunities for learners across our community by funding:Community classes, events, and meetups that foster meaningful friendships and social growth across agesAffordable access to local sports, physical education programs, and team-based activitiesSTEM workshops, tools, kits, tutoring, and resources that ignite curiosity in science, coding, robotics, and moreEvery contribution directly supports families in our community, helping children build balanced, well-rounded learning experiences that extend beyond traditional classrooms.Together, we can create a stronger, more connected learning ecosystem—one where every child has the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, physically, and creatively.Visit www.UnboundLearners.com to learn more about our mission and vision. Help Keep Teen Dances AffordableUnbound Learners is committed to creating safe, welcoming, and memorable opportunities for teens in Johnson County, Kansas, and the surrounding community to connect, build friendships, and simply have fun.Our monthly teen dances provide a much-needed social outlet for homeschool, microschool, alternative-education, and community teens. These events offer a positive space where young people can dress up, dance, enjoy music, meet new friends, and build the confidence and sense of belonging that come from being part of a community. The $15 per-student admission fee is intentionally kept low to make participation accessible to as many families as possible. Each month, admission helps cover the basic costs of the event, including:• Ballroom rental• DJ services• A $50 décor budgetOur volunteer team works incredibly hard behind the scenes to make each dance special. Volunteers plan themes, create decorations, search for affordable supplies, accept donated items, source materials through Buy Nothing groups, set up, break down, and clean the space after every event. Many of these dedicated volunteers are teens themselves, giving their time and talents to help keep this opportunity available for their peers. Most décor is reused, handmade, donated, or creatively repurposed so that every dollar can go as far as possible. Still, donations make a meaningful difference. Support for this fund helps us maintain affordable admission, improve the dance experience, purchase needed supplies, and ensure that cost does not prevent a teen from participating.Your gift supports more than a dance. It helps create friendships, joyful memories, leadership opportunities, and a connected community where teens feel welcome and included. Please consider making a donation today to help keep these monthly teen dances accessible, fun, and affordable for local families.Visit UnboundLearners.com to learn more about our mission and vision, and join our Unbound Learners Facebook community to connect with local families.Zeffy is free for 501(c)(3) nonprofits. Support the Local Homeschool Community
Unbound Learners is dedicated to empowering our local homeschool community in Johnson County Kansas and beyond by providing essential resources, tools, and support that make learning enriching, accessible, and successful for families. We're partnered with JOCO and MICO Homeschool Get Together to make things happen!Homeschooling offers incredible academic advantages—studies from the National Home Education Research Institute show that homeschooled students often score 15–25 percentile points higher on standardized tests than their public school peers. Yet many homeschoolers face real challenges in accessing the same breadth of opportunities available in traditional schools, particularly in key areas like social interaction, organized sports, and STEM education.Research highlights that homeschool students participate less in organized sports (for example, around 46% vs. 57% for public school students in some national surveys), and they may have fewer built-in avenues for structured extracurriculars or specialized STEM programs. These gaps can limit hands-on experiences, teamwork, physical activity, and exposure to advanced science, technology, engineering, and math opportunities that spark lifelong passions and prepare kids for future careers. That's where Unbound Learners steps in. Your generous donation helps us bridge these gaps by funding:Community classes, events, and meetups that foster meaningful friendships and social growth across ages.Affordable access to local sports, physical education programs, and team-building activities.STEM workshops, tools, kits, tutoring, and resources to ignite curiosity and build skills in science, coding, robotics, and more.Every contribution directly supports local homeschool families, helping them create balanced, well-rounded learning journeys while advancing homeschooling as a thriving educational option for more families nationwide.Together, we can shift the dynamic—ensuring homeschoolers not only excel academically but also thrive socially, athletically, and in STEM fields.Visit us at www.UnboundLearners.com to learn more, get involved, or make your donation today. Your support unlocks boundless potential for the next generation of unbound learners! Thank you for believing in homeschool families.
