THE LONGHORN CREATORS FOUNDATION
About this foundation
The Longhorn Creators Foundation (LCF) launched in fall 2016 out of the Radio-Television-Film department at The University of Texas at Austin to provide seed capital in the form of grants to student content creators, artists and storytellers. It sponsors pitch competitions tied to courses such as Script to Screen and has awarded over $50,000 to more than 70 students. The foundation aims to broaden its grant program across UT's Fine Arts, Music, and Computer Science departments to support projects in film, music, game design, photography, sculpture, fashion and graphic design. Outreach includes an annual Longhorn Creators Awards + Orange Carpet Ceremony to showcase funded student work.
