About this foundation
The Morrison-Shearer Foundation "inspires and nurtures the creative processes of dance artists, media artists, and their collaborators." The foundation has been awarding modest grants and event sponsorships since 1990 and oversees programs such as the Sybil Shearer Fellowship at Ragdale. A Program Committee oversees planning, development, evaluation and management of programs and makes recommendations to the Board of Trustees. Grant proposals are reviewed annually by the Board at its November meeting; recipients are notified before the end of the calendar year.
