About this foundation

Established by Bayer in 2023, the Hans and Berthold Finkelstein Foundation promotes remembrance, funds independent historical research (including on I.G. Farben and forced labor), and develops programs to strengthen democratic resilience. It supports projects at universities, research institutes and by independent historians, funds remembrance and education initiatives (including for young people and company employees), and organizes events and collaborations. Funding is prioritized where research can be translated into educational or commemorative formats and impact local visibility.
