About this foundation

The Okefenoke Rural Electric Membership Corporation Foundation is established as a nonprofit charitable organization to support community development, with emphasis on education, community health and economic development. Funding currently comes from unclaimed capital credits and other donations. A nine-member Foundation Board of Trustees (one per district) reviews applications and awards grants on a quarterly basis. The foundation invites qualifying organizations in the six Georgia and two Florida counties OREMC serves to submit applications. The site lists the next application deadline (July 10, 2026) and provides an online application and downloadable form.
