About this program
Supports capital projects (construction or purchase of facilities, building renovations, purchase of capital equipment and furnishings, and other one-time capital needs).
Eligibility
- Must be a nonprofit organization with valid 501(c)(3) public charity status (not a private foundation)
- Must be classified as a public charity under Sections 509(a)(1) or (2)
- Geographic restriction: New York City (all 5 boroughs) or Essex, Morris, or Union County, NJ
- No more than one grant to an organization in a calendar year
- No grants for operating support, endowment, special events, sponsorships, annual fundraising campaigns, or through fiscal sponsors or agents
- Must provide audited financial report for most recent fiscal year or most recent Form 990 if no audit
- Must provide copy of organization's 501(c)(3) and 509(a) IRS ruling letters
- Previous grantees must provide Grant Reports for any previous grants before a new proposal will be considered
