About this program

Foundation-wide grantmaking: accepts letter applications (no online form) and funds public charities with priorities including graduate theological education (US & Canada), performing arts in Richmond (activity must occur within the Richmond City limits), museums for Asian art, support for LGBT persons of faith, and selected community health nursing programs.

Eligibility

• Must be a public charity (IRS determination letter showing 501(c)(3) status) and not a private foundation under Code Section 509(a)
• Applications must be postmarked or private carrier dated on or before Jan 31 or July 15 depending on meeting
• One request per organization in a calendar year
• Enclose one copy of current and immediately preceding fiscal year financial statements and, if required, most recently filed Form 990
• Generally will not consider requests to support private secondary education, individuals, local religious congregations, or large public charities (e.g., American Red Cross)
