The Foundation reviews grants for projects or programs that primarily serve residents of Eastern Niagara County and considers requests in listed primary funding areas (arts & cultural programs, community improvement, education, local historical preservation, health & wellness (non-clinical), human services, senior programs, youth programs). Applicants begin with a Letter of Inquiry submitted via the Grant Portal.

Must be a 501(c)(3) (applying agencies must provide a copy of their 501c3 IRS determination letter) | Requests must primarily serve residents of Eastern Niagara County (applications from outside Niagara County considered only in certain cases)

Grigg Lewis Foundation Grants

THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES SMALL GRANTS ($250-$2000) TO NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND IN SOME CASES, INDIVIDUALS DEMONSTRATING NEED TO IMPROVE FUTURE OUTCOMES.

Invests in initiatives that expand access to high-quality financial education (especially for youth and young adults) and build educator capacity; supports creative approaches to advancing financial literacy.

Schwab Moneywise Momentum Grants

Supports efforts to improve people's lives through the arts; research and innovations in health care; education and programs to help at-risk youth; and to promote enhanced economic achievement.

Must be a qualifying tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization | LOI required (250 words or less) and must be accompanied by a copy of the IRS 501(c)(3) designation | Grants will not be made for political purposes | No grants to support endowment campaigns | No grants to organizations which discriminate on the basis of race, ethnic origin, sexual or religious preference, age or gender | No grants to religious organizations for religious purposes

Marlene and Spencer Hays Foundation Grants

Foundation 214 funds capital and innovative program grants serving children, veterans, and the elderly, supporting projects focused on healthcare or education for those beneficiaries.

Must be a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization | Applicants must have a minimum of one (1) year of IRS Form 990 filings (Form 990-N does not meet eligibility) | Must be located in and/or primarily serve one or more of these counties: Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans, Wyoming (Western New York) | Organizations currently within an active Foundation 214 grant cycle (receiving funds or with outstanding required reports) are not eligible

Supports Black and Indigenous-led social justice organizations and projects in the U.S.; awards of up to $10,000 and applicants complete a brief "get to know you" questionnaire.
