About this foundation

Sobrato Philanthropies is the Sobrato family’s philanthropic arm, guided by three generations of family leadership and focused on long-term community partnership. The site describes family giving programs across a range of issue areas and local initiatives, and it operates Sobrato Centers for Nonprofits by converting commercial properties into affordable nonprofit centers. Programming emphasizes economic mobility, educational equity, housing security and local nonprofit support in Silicon Valley. Family members also fund diverse causes from local education and housing to climate and rare-disease work, ranging from local to global efforts.
