About this foundation

Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation partners with the people of North Carolina to create positive and sustained change. It funds organizations working to change policies, power structures and other root causes across four issue areas: Democracy, Environment, Public Education, and Social and Economic Justice. The foundation runs multiple programs including State-Level Systemic Change, Community Progress Fund, Inclusive Public Art Initiative, and a Sabbatical Program. Most grants are multiyear and often provide general operating support; typical award ranges are described on the site. When applications are open, applicants submit through ZSR’s online grant portal.
