About this foundation

Founded in 2001 with a gift from Ann C. Mooneyhan to honor her late husband Dr. Jerry Mooneyhan, the Mooneyhan Family Foundation aims to improve local communities through charitable grantmaking. The foundation states it makes annual grants to 501(c)3 organizations in Eastern Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, and Western North Carolina. Its primary interests are serving the needs of vulnerable young people; it also supports education, cultural enrichment, and spiritual development. Grants are reviewed annually by the board, with awards announced after the September meeting.

Funding focus
