Jacob & Terese Hershey Foundation Grants
About this program
The Foundation provides operating, project and capital grants. Grant applications begin with a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) submitted via the Foundation's online portal; the Foundation carries out two grantmaking cycles each year.
Eligibility
- Work must be tax-exempt charitable work, typically under a 501(c)(3) public charity or a public institution (501(c)(4) only in certain circumstances).
- Primary geographic focus is Texas
- work outside Texas accepted by invitation only.
- For community parks, environmental education programs and animal welfare, focus is on greater Houston and central Texas
- outside these areas by invitation only.
- The Foundation typically does not fund galas/fundraising events
- grants, scholarships or memorials for individuals
- endowment funds
- religious activities
- ongoing maintenance and operations for parks and park conservancies
- species-specific animal rescue and transport efforts or trap-neuter-release (TNR) programs.
