About this program

The Foundation accepts Letters of Interest year-round from eligible U.S. 501(c)(3) public charities; formal applications are by invitation only and, if invited, are due Jan 15 or July 15.

Eligibility

• Must be a public charity recognized as tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3)
• Must be a U.S.-based organization (entities outside the USA will not be considered)
• Must be in good standing and currently in positive financial standing (e.g., no consecutive years of net losses or significant operating/cumulative deficit)
• Grant requests submitted without an invitation will not be considered
• Walters Foundation will not consider funding individuals, government agencies, loans, political campaigns, endowments, or legislative lobbying efforts
