Building Better Lives grants support Northwest Minnesota people and communities; offered three times a year to strengthen families, health and wellness, welcoming communities, economic mobility/workforce development, and nonprofit capacity building.

Building Better Lives Grants

The Oak Hill Fund is a private family foundation (formed in 2002) that operates a Healthy People – Healthy Planet portfolio of six program areas and accepts letters of inquiry via an online grantee portal for open programs. It only awards grants to organizations tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3).

Must be tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code | No funding for individuals, capital campaigns, endowments, or book and film writing/publication

Reproductive Health, Rights, & Justice

THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES SMALL GRANTS ($250-$2000) TO NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND IN SOME CASES, INDIVIDUALS DEMONSTRATING NEED TO IMPROVE FUTURE OUTCOMES.

Letter of inquiry (LOI) required | Applicant resume required | Proposed budget for expenditure of potential grant funds required | Documentary proof of non-profit IRS tax-exempt status (if applicable) | Non-profit prior year and current year-to-date balance sheet and income statement (if applicable) | Must be a qualifying distribution recipient per IRS 501(c)(3) and exempt under 509(a)(1) or 509(a)(2) (for organizational applicants)

Small Grants Program

Provides funds for course-marking safety and new initiatives that improve race/event safety. Funds are intended for additional safety measures and are generally paid directly to suppliers for materials or services; not for required services like onsite ambulances.

Use funds only for additional safety measures (not required services such as onsite ambulance services) | Requests submitted with less than 30 days notice may not be accepted | Funds are generally paid directly to the supplier for materials or services | Applications must meet the stated application deadlines (January 31 or July 31)

Event/Series Safety Support

Annual award recognizing work that strengthens or reimagines psychoanalysis; accepts individuals, teams, and organizations and honors completed work from the most recent decade.

Work submitted must have been created between 2016 and 2025 (most recent decade).

Sigourney Award

Invests in initiatives that expand access to high-quality financial education (especially for youth and young adults) and build educator capacity; supports creative approaches to advancing financial literacy.

Schwab Moneywise Momentum Grants

Unsolicited general-support grants to nonprofit organizations (US-registered 501(c)(3) public charities; fiscally sponsored projects eligible). The program runs two unsolicited cycles per year, with awards up to $25,000 and priorities including agriculture, clean/safe drinking water, community engagement, water management, watershed advocacy, and racial equity.

Must be a US-registered 501(c)(3) public charitable organization (including educational institutions) or fiscally sponsored project | Organization must not have previously received a grant from The Campbell Foundation | Only one proposal per cycle may be submitted | The Foundation does not provide unsolicited grants for: Academic or Medical Research; Alcohol and Drug Recovery Programming; Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation; Boarding schools/private schools (including private preschools); City and county governments; Federal departments; Conservation Districts outside Chesapeake and California regions; Disease Research and Prevention; Ecosystem Restoration; Films; Hospitals; Individuals; International aid; Marine Protected Areas (Outside of California); Membership/dues based organizations; Non-Community-Based Fisheries and Ocean Management; Plastic Pollution; Programs or activities that require participation in religious activities; Projects not based in the US; Single Species Management or Conservation; Waterkeepers organizations outside of Chesapeake and California regions; Youth sports clubs

Unsolicited Grants Program

Organizations invited by a member of the Seabury Family may apply for up to $25,000 in general operating or project/program support.

Must be a 501(c)(3) organization invited by a Seabury Family sponsor | Organizations with annual operating expenses in excess of $2.5 million may only apply for project/program support | No funding for religious activities, political campaigns, or legislative lobbying
