Wildfire Safety and Preparedness Program (WSPP)
About this program
A competitive grant program that supports wildfire safety, prevention and emergency preparedness by funding specialized firefighting equipment, vegetation management, fuels reduction, and public education/outreach to underserved communities in high fire‑risk areas.
Eligibility
- Applicants are local fire departments and community organizations (fire agencies and community groups).
- Funding targets communities in PG&E's Northern and Central California service area.
- Priority/funding restricted to communities identified as extreme or elevated fire risk by the California Public Utilities Commission.
