A prize recognizing Cuyahoga County non-profit organizations or collaborations demonstrating systems change and/or scalable innovation in the local workforce development ecosystem; award is $50,000 with no restrictions or deliverables.

Deborah Vesy Systems Change Champion Award

A participatory grantmaking initiative led by Native Americans in Philanthropy that supports Indigenous youth leadership and community-defined solutions; in 2026 the fund will invest $1.65M to expand support for Native-led solutions.

The Indigenous Tomorrows Fund

General foundation grants supporting social justice, environmental conservation/animal welfare, and education (STEM, arts, early childhood), plus organizational strengthening and multi-year support when appropriate.

Shumaker Family Foundation Grants

The Opportunity Fund awards grants to organizations with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status and certain governmental entities. Funding categories include the Arts and Social & Economic Justice.

Must have 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status or be a qualifying governmental entity | No grants to organizations located outside of the United States | No grants to individuals | Arts applicants: organizations should have annual budgets of $1.5 million or less | If using a fiscal sponsor, submit a written fiscal sponsorship agreement dated and signed by both parties

Opportunity Fund Grants

Makes grants for general operations, programs or projects, capacity building, planning and evaluation in support of community development activities primarily within Super Neighborhood 52.

Must be a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization (no individuals). | Primarily serve Super Neighborhood 52 / Houston area (generally not eligible if not in Houston area). | Not for annual fund drives. | Not for capital campaigns. | Not for direct mail or other mass solicitations. | Not for endowments. | Not for grants that impose the exercise of “expenditure responsibility” (e.g., private operating foundations or certain support organizations). | Not for houses of worship. | Not for medical or scientific research projects or organizations that target a specific disease. | Not for parochial or private primary and secondary schools.

Rockwell Fund Grants

RFA inviting Black-led and Black-serving organizations (and organizations that can demonstrate clear connection to Black birthing people) to apply for general operating support to strengthen organizational capacity and the Black birthing workforce.

Advancing Health Equity in Black Maternal Care (Request for Applications)

Provides grants to projects and programs that assist communities in expressing and invigorating their cultural traditions, arts and languages through community engagement and community-building; prioritizes projects organized by the communities being served.

Must be a tax-exempt nonprofit organization under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code or be fiscally-sponsored by a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization. | Must be located within the Puget Sound area. | Organizational budget of no more than $1,000,000. | Must be nondiscriminatory in its policies and practices. | Individuals, for-profit businesses (including LLCs) and 501(c)(4) organizations are ineligible to apply.
