Support fight for racial justice

Because the foundation operates by preselection and offers modest awards, organizations should prioritize networked approaches: cultivate introductions through mutual grantees, local philanthropic intermediaries, or board contacts; demonstrate concrete program impact in one of the foundation’s observed priority areas and be prepared for small, one-time grants rather than large multi-year funding. Public proposals are unlikely to be successful given the foundation’s stated preselection policy.
