The grant was used to support a program to provide education and support for people of African Heritage. The work centers on understanding history and present social realities. It incorporates cognitive, emotional and social learning. The concept of understanding, acknowledging, and holding grief is central to organizing and carrying out this work. The funding provides support for workshops, art instalations and accompanying documentary film about the history and impact of lynching in the United States. The workshops are designed to create connection and promote healing. This project is part of our mission for education and support for the broader community. The organization is a church.
