Frequently asked questions

Which tools does Zeffy connect to?

Four ways, depending on the tool. Direct integrations for the ones nonprofits use most: QuickBooks Online for accounting, a WordPress plugin for your website, and an AI assistant that answers questions about your data inside ChatGPT. Zapier and viaSocket for everything else, which covers thousands of apps without writing code. And a free public API with webhooks if you want to build something yourself. Every one of them is free on Zeffy's side.

Does Zeffy integrate with Salesforce?

Not directly, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise. There is no native Salesforce sync. What works today: connect the two through Zapier or viaSocket, which is the route most organizations take, or pull your Zeffy data with the free API and push it into Salesforce yourself. Contacts and payments both come out, and contacts can be written back.

Does Zeffy integrate with Mailchimp, Slack, or Google Sheets?

Yes, through Zapier or viaSocket, and there is no fee from Zeffy for any of them. A new donation can add the donor to a Mailchimp audience, post to a Slack channel, or append a row to a Google Sheet, and you set that up by picking the trigger and the action rather than by writing code. Zeffy also sends email and newsletters natively, so Mailchimp is a choice rather than a requirement.

What if the tool we use isn't listed amongst Zeffy integrations?

It is almost certainly still reachable. Zapier and viaSocket between them connect Zeffy to thousands of applications, so the question is usually whether your tool is on one of those two platforms rather than whether Zeffy supports it. If it is not, the free public API and webhooks mean a developer can wire it up directly: webhooks fire the moment a donation, contact or campaign changes, so nothing has to be polled or exported on a schedule.

Do we need a developer?

For most of it, no. QuickBooks, the WordPress plugin and the ChatGPT assistant are set up from your Zeffy account in a few minutes. Zapier and viaSocket are no-code: you choose a trigger, choose an action, and paste in an API key when prompted. A developer is only needed if you want to build directly against the API, and even then the documentation is public so you can hand it over rather than explain it.

Does any of this cost anything?

Nothing on Zeffy's side. Every integration, the API and the webhooks are included, with no add-on fee, no connector charge and no paid tier, which is the same model as the rest of Zeffy. Zapier, viaSocket and the other platforms have their own pricing and free tiers, and that relationship is between you and them.
