Every donation and every order can start a Zap
Connect to 1,000+ tools with no code
Free from Zeffy, with no plan to upgrade to
Zeffy is not listed in Zapier's public app directory. You join through our invitation link, which is in step 2 below.
What you'll need:
Admin access to your Zeffy account, so you can generate an API key, and a Zapier account. Both are free to start.
Log in to Zeffy, go to Settings, then Organization information, then Integrations, and copy your API key. Only admins can generate one, and it lives in your organization's settings rather than your personal profile.
Zeffy is not in Zapier's public app directory, so you join through our invitation link. You can find it in the Zapier setup guide in our help centre. Sign in or create your Zapier account, then click Accept Invite and Build a Zap.
Create a new Zap, search for Zeffy, and select Zeffy 2.0. Then pick the event that starts it. Get Donations fires on each donation and carries the full donation detail. Get Order fires on each ticket, membership, raffle entry or store purchase.
When Zapier asks you to connect your account, paste the API key from step 1. Then choose the action that follows, whether that is a row in a spreadsheet, a record in your CRM or a message to your team.
Zapier connects Zeffy to more than 1,000 web tools, and any app in Zapier's catalogue can be on the receiving end. When money comes in on Zeffy, the rest of your stack can hear about it straight away.
Two events can start a Zap. Get Donations fires for each donation, with the full donation record attached. Get Order fires for each ticket, membership, raffle entry or online store purchase, which is the one to use when you want the general shape of every transaction.
A few things nonprofits build with it: append every gift to a board reporting sheet, create or update the donor's record in the CRM your team already runs, notify a Slack channel when a major gift lands, add new supporters to an external mailing list, or open a task for a thank-you call.
Two practical notes. Some Zeffy fields, such as answers to your custom questions, arrive as a list, so use Zapier's Formatter step and Pick from list to pull out a single answer. And if your organization still runs the legacy Zeffy 1.9 connection, your existing Zaps keep working, but build anything new on Zeffy 2.0, which connects with an API key instead of your login details.
Nothing from Zeffy. The connection and the API access behind it are free for every organization, with no subscription and no plan to upgrade to. Other fundraising platforms reserve Zapier access for their paid tiers.
Zapier sets its own pricing, including a free plan with a monthly task allowance, so any cost sits on their side rather than ours.
We stay free thanks to optional tips from donors. Nonprofits keep 100% of what they raise, and there are no platform, transaction or credit card fees.
Yes. Zeffy is not listed in Zapier's public app directory, so you join through our invitation link, which is in our help centre guide. From there it works like any other Zapier app.
Two. Get Donations fires for each donation and carries the full donation detail. Get Order fires for each ticket, membership, raffle entry or online store purchase.
No. Zeffy is the trigger side of the Zap. Data flows out of Zeffy into your other tools, and nothing external can create or change records in your Zeffy account.
Zeffy 2.0 connects with an API key rather than your login email and password, which is more secure and more reliable. Build every new Zap on 2.0. Existing 1.9 Zaps keep running, and 1.9 is being phased out.
To generate the API key, yes. It sits in your organization's settings, not your personal profile, so if you are not an admin, ask someone on your team who is.
It is free from Zeffy, and so is the API access behind it. Zapier charges for its own plans and has a free tier, so the only possible cost sits with them.
Because the Zeffy app is shared through an invitation link rather than published publicly. Follow the link in our help centre guide and Zeffy will appear in your own Zapier account.
Yes. Zeffy doesn't charge platform fees, transaction fees or credit card fees. Nonprofits keep 100% of every dollar raised. We stay free thanks to optional tips from donors.
