🤝
GoFundMe and GoFundMe Pro have no built-in CRM. Zeffy's CRM, newsletters and welcome series are free.
Zeffy is one free platform for nonprofits: donations, events, auctions, raffles, a store, memberships and a donor CRM, with nothing deducted from gifts. GoFundMe runs fundraisers, including certified nonprofit fundraisers and free Nonprofit Pages, with a transaction fee on every gift. GoFundMe Pro, formerly Classy, is GoFundMe's separate platform for nonprofits. It adds donation forms, events and peer-to-peer, with custom pricing: an annual subscription plus a fee per donation.
Choose Zeffy if you want your own donation forms, events, auctions and donor CRM, with nothing deducted from any gift and no yearly subscription.
Choose GoFundMe if you want supporters to fundraise for you in front of its community of over 200 million people. Choose GoFundMe Pro if you are a larger nonprofit that needs a native Salesforce integration and multi-currency giving, and has a budget for a yearly subscription.
Yes. On a certified nonprofit fundraiser, GoFundMe deducts a transaction fee of 2.2% + $0.30 from each donation. Donors can also leave an optional tip to GoFundMe. On GoFundMe Pro, card gifts cost up to 2.5% + $0.30 through GoFundMe Pay, plus 1% on American Express, on top of the GoFundMe Pro fee in your contract. Zeffy deducts nothing: your nonprofit receives 100% of every gift. Rates from gofundme.com/c/pricing and GoFundMe Pro's help center, October 2026.
GoFundMe Pro does not publish a price list, and its pricing page lists no free plan. Its pricing combines an annual upfront subscription with a fee per donation, set for each nonprofit. Payments through GoFundMe Pay cost up to 2.5% + $0.30 on cards, 1% + $0.30 on ACH, and 2.5% + $0.30 on PayPal and Venmo. Live Events, which runs auctions, and the Salesforce integration are add-ons at an additional fee. Zeffy has one plan, and it's free.
No. GoFundMe Pro has no built-in CRM. It sends donor data to a CRM you pay for separately: Salesforce through a paid add-on, or tools like Raiser's Edge NXT and Bloomerang through partner integrations. Zeffy's CRM is complete, and it's free. Every donation, ticket and membership lands on the donor's record, with newsletters and automations included.
Yes, both ask donors for an optional contribution at checkout, but the models differ. GoFundMe still deducts its transaction fee from every gift, whatever the donor tips. Zeffy deducts nothing: the optional contribution is how Zeffy is funded, and your nonprofit receives 100% of every gift. On Zeffy, donors see the contribution separately from their gift and can set it to $0.
Registered nonprofits in the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia and Germany. In the US, any 501(c) organization with an EIN can use Zeffy, not only 501(c)(3)s. Zeffy is rated 4.8/5 on Capterra from 498 reviews. It is free for every nonprofit: no monthly fee, no platform fee and no processing fee. Donors can leave an optional contribution or set it to $0, and it never comes out of the gift. See how Zeffy is free.
GoFundMe puts your Nonprofit Page in front of a community of over 200 million people, and runs its own donor-advised funds, Giving Funds. GoFundMe Pro offers a native Salesforce integration, as a paid add-on, and multi-currency giving. If you need them, add their cost to the comparison.

As a startup nonprofit with only two members, and no funding (yet) we’d need something with low (or no) fees. Zeffy was a dream come true.
