No you won’t! Zeffy is completely free for nonprofits - no platform fees, no credit card fees, no fees period! We've never charged a single cent to nonprofits and we never will. 100% of all payments you receive through Zeffy go directly to your nonprofit.
Zeffy relies entirely on optional tips from your donors. When making a payment on a Zeffy form, your donors can choose to contribute to Zeffy or not. On average, 2 out of 3 donors leave us a tip. This is enough to cover all our costs and re-invest in the development of Zeffy. Zeffy has been working with nonprofits for 7 years and, thanks to this 100% free model, currently supports 100,000 organizations globally.
Donors are never forced to tip Zeffy. They can leave an optional tip if they want to support Zeffy. If they don't, the nonprofit still keeps 100% of the money raised.
Donors love that 100% of their donations go directly to the nonprofit they support. That's why so many of them leave us a tip.
Yes, running a sweepstakes on Zeffy is free at any size. There's no platform fee, no per-entry fee and no card fee, so a $20 bundle puts $20 in your account. Zeffy is funded by an optional contribution supporters can add at checkout.
A sweepstakes can run legally in every US state, while raffle rules change from state to state. The difference comes from a free way to enter, which the law requires for a sweepstakes and which comes built in on Zeffy. That's why Zeffy offers sweepstakes to nonprofits in every US state, including states where it doesn't offer raffles. Our sweepstakes vs raffle guide compares the two.
No. The free entry is what the law requires of every sweepstakes, and it comes built in on Zeffy. In practice, a sweepstakes runs like any prize drawing: supporters enter with a donation to back your cause and win your prizes. Our free entry guide explains the rules behind it.
No, Zeffy writes your sweepstakes official rules from your campaign details, with the notice that no donation is necessary to enter or win. You can preview them before you publish. Our official rules guide covers what they include.
It depends on your prizes and your state. Zeffy doesn't currently accept sweepstakes with more than $5,000 in prizes in New York or Florida. Laws vary by state and each organization is responsible for its own compliance, so check yours before you launch. Our sweepstakes laws guide has the details.
Yes. Most organizations offer a single entry and two or three bundles, like 1 for $5 and 5 for $20, and set the total number of entries. Bundle discounts are for 501(c)(3) organizations; other nonprofits charge the same price per entry.
